Academy membership is not restricted to artists, it is open to everyone interested in and supporting art in New Zealand. Members enjoy the benefits of invitations to all Academy opening functions and receive advance notice and entry forms for all Academy exhibitions. An added benefit for members is that the $12 entry fees for artworks entered into Academy exhibitions, is waived. Members also receive a regular copy of the Academy Arts News, a publication that contains details about upcoming exhibitions, reviews past exhibitions and informs readers about other events held at the galleries. By joining you share in the life of one of the oldest and most respected arts organizations in New Zealand. Corporate membership is also available and benefits include six double invitations to the members’ evening opening function of each Academy exhibition, as well as six double entry invitations to the midday preview functions. The midday functions enable members to meet the exhibiting artists and have the opportunity to buy work before other members. Sponsors and Corporate members are acknowledged in each issue of the Academy’s Arts News. Corporate members are also able to take advantage of the Academy Galleries being available at no rental charge to Corporate members who wish to entertain their staff and/or clients for evening functions during exhibitions. There is a limit of one free hireage per calendar year and our standard contract and policy conditions always apply. Business membership is available for smaller organizations (with typically under 100 employees). The benefits are the same as Corporate membership except they get three double invitations to the lunchtime preview functions and three double invitations to the members’ evening opening function and do not receive the free of rental functions benefit.
